TOUTONE

Meet Totoune!  She a lovely 6 year old Great Pyreneese/Lab mix who found her self homeless.  She was picked up as a stray, and spent 6 gruelling months in a shelter in Quebec, where she was stressed-despite the staff's efforts to ease her worries. Seeing no adoption in the future for her, the shelter contacted the Canine Rescue Team who brought her into rescue  She is a gentle, easy going girl who is adapting well to her foster home and foster brothers Snowy (also a Pyr Mix) and Shadow (also a CRT rescue).  This gal knows her basic commands, is housetrained, spayed and up to date on her shots.  She goes to her crate when asked, and is learning to wait her turn before going in and out of the house.  Toutone does have some manageable resource guarding issues which stem from being a stray and starving.   We are happy to report that this is improving everyday, and now she eats gently from her foster parent's hands. She waits and allows her foster parents and the other resident dogs to pass through the doorway and go up and down the stairs first. Overall she is a happy girl who loves to take her walks, fetching a ball, and laying near you.  She enjoys human companionship, is good with strangers as well as with dogs she meets on walks.    We are looking for an experienced adoptive family for her with no children, because of her breed, size and resource guarding issues.  She is working with a professional trainer for obedience, and the possession issues.  We are certain that once stabilized, she will continue to thrive and be an even more amazing dog than she is now.  Having seen so much improvement in such a short time with us-we see a bright future for our "Toune."
