The Canine Rescue Team was founded in 2008 after working with other groups taught me many invaluable lessons about dog rescue.
I felt that I was ready to embark on my own journey as the founder of an all-breed all-need group I could call my own. It was a challenge that I welcomed and embraced, with the encouragement from many friends and colleagues I had come to meet along the way. I thank them every day for all they showed me-One important lesson-that not being able to save every dog, does not make me a failure-but only empowers me to save those that I can, and believe in what I am doing.
My name is Cheryl Hamelin and I am the and Founder of the Canine Rescue Team.

Colleen is a life-long animal lover. She drives
transport runs, screens Foster and Adoption Applications and manages our facebook page for the CRT.
"I have been both a volunteer and also an animal lover for much of my life. I grew up in home, the youngest of 8 children. My family also had a cherished member, Khal, a Samoyed, who lived for 12 years, whom I still miss today.
I have volunteered for many years with St John Ambulance, and also currently volunteer with the Ottawa Victims Society. I was looking for a way to match up her love of animals with her desire to be an active volunteer, and has since found the Canine Rescue Team.
As a proud momma of two furbabies, cats Bella and Rusty, I hopes for a day soon, when I can move to a bigger place and be able to foster a dog or help other animals in need.
