The Canine Rescue Team was founded in 2008 after working with other groups taught me many invaluable lessons about dog rescue. I felt that I was ready to embark on my own journey as the founder of an all-breed all-need group I could call my own. It was a challenge that I welcomed and embraced, with the encouragement from many friends and colleagues I had come to meet along the way. I thank them every day for all they showed me-One important lesson-that not being able to save every dog, does not make me a failure-but only empowers me to save those that I can, and believe in what I am doing. My name is Cheryl O'Grady and I am the President and Founder of the Canine Rescue Team. "Until there's none, Rescue One"..author Anonymous..

Thomas Rogan Director of Operations
An accomplished obedience trainer and behaviorist, Thomas is in charge of all operational aspects of The Canine Rescue Team.
"I have loved animals (mainly dogs and cats) since I was a little boy growing up in MA, NJ & PA. By the time I was 14, I had moved to Canada (Rothesay, NB) and become a confirmed "dog person" ... only to be rewarded by my mother getting a Westie . We were all loved by that wonderful girl until she was 18!
When I moved out on my own at 18, I kept dobermans and shepherds for many years. I have been involved in obedience training, agility and flyball. Another Westie entered my life 12 years ago. Then, I got introduced to (and fell hopelessly in love with) Vizslas a few years ago. I "Married" in to 3 V's, one of them a rescue and brought my Westie with me.
Not that long ago I saw a sweet boy go by on a cross-post from a FB friend of mine. We just *HAD* to help this boy. That was the beginning of my experience with this truly honourable and dedicated organization, CRT. When I met them, we had collectively over 50 years of dog experience, 3 crazy Vizslas (one a rescue) and a Westie in our home. After working as a volunteer in Transport & Fostering, I am proud to be "part of the team" and a Senior Volunteer here at CRT!! Ottawa-based, I love having dirty dog-smelly hands in transport, fostering, processing applications, storing and distributing food ... and anything else I can do to help!!"
"Rescue is cleaning-up the broken & discarded love from others 'inconvenience', rebuilding and redistributing it."

"I have been a dog person for my entire life, even as a young girl growing up. I have trained and ridden horses (including one of my own - still have all the tack in my basement - LOL!).
Having fallen head-over heels with the Vizsla over 20 years ago, I have trained international champion agility and flyball dogs. I am presently owned by 3 crazy red-heads and juts love every minute of my dog-life, working with rescue and helping to save dogs.
